Paddle Ridge, hotel in West Glacier

Paddle Ridge is located just under 1 mile from the west entrance of Glacier National Park. The cottages feature a private stocked trout pond and a full kitchen.

My room in the lodge was spacious and clean. The shared space was lovely, with comfy couches and tables, and the view from the deck was outstanding! Loved the 24 hour access to coffee and tea .

Reclusive Moose Cabins, hotel in West Glacier

Offering barbecue facilities, Reclusive Moose Cabins features accommodations in West Glacier. Housed in a building dating from 2012, this vacation home is 12 miles from the Big Sky Waterpark.

This little cabin exceeded our expectations and was perfect for our family of four visiting Glacier. It is very convenient to the West entrance. Although it feels remote, it is only a 10-15 minute drive to plenty of eating options, grocery store, etc. Go another 10 minutes to Whitefish. It’s a very cute mountain ski town. We enjoyed watching a movies together after visiting the park and having dinner in town. The hosts were great with small snacks left and a message to make sure we got in ok and if we needed anything. Great communication from them. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others without hesitation.

Glacier National Park is beautiful, but many people want to go there. There is a inexpensive day pass available 40 days in advance for about 15 minutes. If you don't have one, you have to wait until 3PM to get in. This is addition to the entrance fee. Be prepared for weather from freezing to summer. The west end of Going to the Sun Road is being repaved in 2023, so it is gravel. From West Glacier, you can take your time drive to the Saint Mary entrance and get there about 3. Do not drive to the Polebridge entrance unless you have a pass, and a truck. The road outside the park is mostly unpaved, and all of it inside at the entrance, with warnings. Do your research!

We Canoe'd on Lake MacDonald the first day and then traved up to the MacDonald Lodge and hiked up alon the Trail of the Cedars. The First day we secured a 3 day pass for the following 3 day so we hiked Avalanch Lake and Avalanch Falls, also up to Red Rocks and spending time on the Sacred Cascade Falls trails and saw a deer. We had a wedding at Paddle Ridge the next day which was a beautiful location, with a very accomodating staff. Our next day we traveled over to East Glacier, St Mary's and Many Glacier ...across the Continental Divid and there were beautiful views! I will come back in September with more family and stay for 9 days! Peace, Patty and family

The park is beautiful, but lots of driving to get from one scenic location to another. Not all roads are always open, often due to winter damage for example. This would not be an issue for someone focusing on one area of the park for a focused camping, hiking, biking or fishing experience.

    The cottage was very clean.

The cottage was very clean. We felt like we were home that all we need are groceries. The kitchen has everything. Very close to the park entrance. We would definitely recommend these lovely stand alone cottages to our friends.

The road to the sun was amazing and so fortunate to have bought a pass ahead of time. Multiple stops along the way for sightseeing, hiking and cooling off in the lakes. Many additional visitors to the park, but manageable. The locals were very helpful along with the visitors centers to provide points of interest. McDonald Lake was spectacular, but the lodge was outdated, smelled musty and needed some work... very glad to not have booked a room there!

Great for larger groups (fishing, hiking, Glacier Park exploring)—you should travel with a minimum of 4 people to make it worthwhile money-wise. The cabin we were in was a 2-bedroom, and could probably have slept 8 people because we had 4 queen beds. The cabin was clean and had a big kitchen (which we did not use because we stayed only 1 night with 4 people). But the cabin would have been great for a longer stay, and a bigger family group.

AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING This was our 3 hotel on or 12 day National Parks vacation, and by far the BEST!! Great for family’s or couples! What a great place! Great location, fishing ponds, clean, comfortable! The entire staff was incredible! They were all friendly and professional, especially Katlynn and Shelby! Their on site store had high end apparel. You can also book whitewater rafting with them. This place truly was great! We loved it was family owned too!

Location in a small village with some restaurants and shops to walk to was nice as was being right near a beautiful lake as well as hiking and biking trails. Property was squeaky clean and well appointed in every conceivable way, down to charging ports, bear spray, and first aid kits. Complete and accurate instructions for everything. Good recreation equipment choices are part of the package provided to offer an enjoyable Glacier Park experience.

Loved the location in the woods so close to west Glacier park entrance. Bed was comfortable (always a key thing), cabin was clean and comfortable. Had all of what was needed to stay comfortably. Even had a washer /dryer. The cabin is close enough to the highway you can hear the road when outside, but there were trees all the way around for privacy

This cabin was perfect for us. We spent the week at glacier national Park and it was very conveniently located. We took the train and the West glacier train station was very close as well. Logistically it worked very very well.

In the park! Walking distance to Lake McDonald. Fully fully fully well stocked with everything you could imagine for a great vacay! And even though you are jammed in close to other folks the cabin itself is very quiet.
