Lake Louise is a must-see spot in Banff. While it’s way too crowded in the summertime, it’s pretty quiet, even peaceful in the wintertime. No booking is required. No paid parking. Just a beautiful frozen lake surrounded by big mountains. You can walk around the lake or just sit and enjoy the view. In the winter, it turns into a magical ice skating rink.

Johnston Canyon is a great hike that takes you through a narrow canyon to a series of waterfalls. You’ll walk on metal walkways attached to the canyon walls.. The Upper Falls are really impressive and less crowded. You might even see some ice climbers in action. Make sure to wear walking shoes and bring microspikes. It’s often slippery!
