🌊 Admire the Shannon Falls

Shannon Falls is one of BC’s tallest waterfalls. And it’s a spectacular sight in the winter. You can see the waterfall from the town and the road. But I really suggest you park in the parking lot and explore a bit more.

It’s a quick walk to the waterfall’s base, only 1 km round-trip.

💡 Are you a fan of the TV show Virgin River? I am. And if you are too, you’ll be glad to know it’s the waterfall we see in the TV show.

🌲 Explore Murrin Provincial Park

Venture into the tranquility of Murrin Provincial Park. There are many trails to choose from in the provincial park, but I highly recommend the Quercus Lookout Trail. This trail is a favorite among hikers for its panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and waters.

The trail is not super well-marked. You really have to look for the orange signs on the trees. It’s also pretty rocky and wet (there was a lot of water running down the rocks and stairs when we visited). But it’s still really worth it.

You can also enjoy a picnic by the lake near the parking lot.

🛁 Enjoy Radium Hot Springs

Soak in the warm, natural waters of Radium Hot Springs. Surrounded by snowy mountains, it’s a great way to relax. Parks Canada manages the Radium Hot Springs pools, similar to the Upper Banff Hot Springs in Banff.

I personally prefer the Radium Hot Springs pool over the Upper Banff one. The hot pool is a lot bigger and is in the mountains. It feels a bit more natural.

If you’re looking for other hot springs, try the ones at Fairmont Hot Spring Resorts. There are multiple pools.
