Where We’ll Stay:

We’ll stay at the Trembling Aspen Retreat, where we’ll have our entire property. It’s located just off Highway 40, near Ghost Lake and Benchlands.

It’s a beautiful property in the woods with a gathering cabin and three individual forest pods where you’ll sleep.

Note that there is limited cell service. We see this as an opportunity to immerse ourselves fully and be in the present. There are walking trails and the chance to see some wildlife right at our feet.

DAY 2

We’ll start the day with a yoga and meditation session, followed by a healthy breakfast. It’s an opportunity to relax and let the outside world go. You’ll feel calm and relaxed for the rest of the retreat.

Then, we’ll go for a wonderful horseback riding adventure nearby.

We’ll enjoy a late lunch back at the property before some free time for self-reflection in nature.

In the late afternoon, you’ll participate in an intentional bracelet creation workshop, infusing your purpose for being here and allowing that purpose to go home with you (and a nice gift for you to bring home).

Dinner will be served before a grounding warm Cacao ceremony (think nourishing medicinal hot chocolate).

We’ll enjoy the rest of the evening at the cabin: oracle cards, books, and lovely discussions.

DAY 3

We’ll wake up with a healthy breakfast and one last yoga session. Then, we’ll pack up and go for a breathtaking hike, followed by an outdoor picnic and closing circle. We’ll enjoy one last moment of connection before ending our magical spring retreat.

ABOUT THE HOSTS

This winter retreat is hosted by Emilie from Love Life Abroad and her friend (and yogi) Ginette. Their individual strengths make them the perfect combination for this zen/adventure retreat.

Meet Emilie

Meet Emilie the founder of Love Life Abroad

Emilie is the founder of the outdoor family travel blog Love Life Abroad. She studied and practiced Mechanical engineering for many years until she decided to take a leap of faith and build her own tourism business. Since then, she has worked with many tourism boards in Canada and the USA, including Tourism Jasper, Travel Drumheller, Visit Southern Idaho, and many more. She has always been drawn to the outdoors, but when her family moved to the majestic Canadian Rockies, she became more interested in hiking and camping.

She loves helping families get out of their comfort zones and find peace in nature. But she also recognized that motherhood can be hard and lonely. It’s why she decided to create outdoor women’s retreats.

Ginette (Gigi) has practiced yoga since 2004 and teaching since 2018. She has traveled to Bali to learn the foundations of yoga.

To date, she has studied 500 hours in Yoga Teacher Training, an additional 50 hours in Tibetan Bon Buddhism Meditation, 50 hours in Children’s Yoga Training, and courses in Yin Yoga and Holy Fire Usui Reiki. Gigi continuously learns and is keenly interested in Shamanism, Art Therapy, Pranayama (breath work), and the chakras.

Gigi loves hosting creative and mindful events like cacao ceremonies, full moon ceremonies, mala-making, and intuitive dance. She loves connecting to nature, where she can truly ground herself.

F.A.Q

What is the cancellation policy?

If you decide to cancel at least 30 days before the retreat, we will provide you with a 100% refund (minus the deposit).

After that, there will be no refunds for cancellations. If you need to cancel your trip outside the 30-day window, we will try to “sell” your spot. However, that is not guaranteed.

I’m not very experienced in outdoor activities. Can I still participate?

Absolutely! Our retreats are designed to accommodate women of most skill levels. We offer a range of activities and ensure that each participant feels comfortable and supported. Beginners are welcome. That being said, we’ll do different outdoor activities on this spring retreat, including hiking and horseback riding. The hike we selected for this retreat is 8.0 km and rated moderate on AllTrails.

Having a good fitness level is ideal for your enjoyment and ease.

What should I pack for the retreat?

Once you register for a retreat for women, we will provide a detailed packing list specially curated for that retreat. Generally, it’s important to bring comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities, personal toiletries, sun protection, a reusable water bottle, and any personal medication.

Can I bring my husband, male friend, or children?

Sadly no. Those women’s outdoor adventures are designed specifically for women. If you have an adult daughter, you’re welcome to invite her to join.

Will I have any personal time, or is the schedule fixed?

We understand the importance of solitude and reflection, especially in nature, so you’ll have designated free relaxing periods. But our women’s retreats are packed with activities, whether it’s a yoga session or an adventure, to ensure a memorable experience.

That being said, you are more than welcome to skip an activity if you don’t feel like participating. You’ll be missed, but we understand 😉

What accommodations and meals can I expect?

All accommodations are double occupancy, meaning you will most likely share a room or bed (king or queen) with a roommate. Don’t worry, it’s not awkward, I promise! 😉

This spring retreat is held in a setting where you’ll share 3 nature pods with the other participants. Every pod has 2 single beds and one double bed (bunk beds).

Note that there is limited cell service. We see this as an opportunity to immerse ourselves fully and be in the present.

All meals will be included (breakfast, lunch, dinner). We will prepare all meals for you with fresh ingredients.

If you have any dietary restrictions, notify me and I’ll take care of it.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We monitor weather conditions closely and have contingency plans for each activity. But you’ll need to be flexible. The weather in Canada is UNPREDICTABLE. Some outdoor activities may held under a light rain, while others might be substituted.
